Intensive Outpatient Program in Los Angeles

Peer Mental Wellness is committed to meeting our participants where they are on the road to recovery. We’ve seen firsthand the ways that outdated ideas about mental health have impacted those in our community, and we’re challenging those beliefs as we work towards a new future. By believing in the potential of every person in our care, we’re able to support true healing. One way we promote recovery is by offering an intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Orange County.

Our IOP is a step between our partial hospitalization and outpatient programs. This level of care involves visiting our center several times a week for both group and individual therapy sessions. In our center, you’ll find a welcoming, supportive, and creative community that is here to help you reconnect with your inner artist and work towards a new chapter in your life.

Intensive Outpatient Programs for Mental Health

Mental health issues like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or PTSD can keep you from reaching your goals. Maybe a mental health disorder and co-occurring substance use disorder have impacted your relationships with loved ones or have kept you from doing the things you love. Professional treatment is the best way to understand the underlying causes of these issues and develop the healthy coping skills needed to recover.

An intensive outpatient program is designed for those who have completed a partial hospitalization program or a similar level of care but who are still working towards a place of stability before ending treatment. This form of mental health treatment provides structure and support and offer a number of benefits, including:

  • Flexible hours that accommodate work and school schedules
  • Group therapy and counseling
  • A supportive environment
  • Peer feedback
  • Education on mental health topics

IOPs can be very helpful for those who are not able to or who do not need to commit to a traditional inpatient or residential treatment program. They provide a way for participants to get the support they need while still maintaining their regular routines. IOPs typically last for several weeks or months, depending on the individual’s needs.

Participants can expect to participate in group therapy and counseling, as well as to receive education on mental health topics. They will also have the opportunity to build relationships with their peers and receive support from the staff. IOPs for mental health can be an excellent option for those who are looking for intensive treatment without having to leave home.
